My Summer 2012 Reading List!

Every summer I get excited to choose a stack of books that I hope to read. I never make it through the whole stack. Life just gets in the way. But, I like to be ambitious. This year's list is even more ambitious than normal, but since I am not teaching this summer, I am pretending like I will have more time to myself, for pleasures such as reading. However, even if I do, I will get distracted by a different book (not on my list) and still won't make it through everything on my list. But, I have made a list anyways, and I would love to share it with you. (And If you look carefully you will notice that a couple on this year's list were also on last year's.... but I never got to them!).
Do you have a summer reading list? Here is what I am hoping to read:

  2. I so wish I had the time and energy for a reading list these days. But I am actually reading again, little by little. No one would ever guess that I was actually at one time pursuing a PhD in literature! Your list looks fascinating. Maybe after our move, I will have time to devote to reading a little more regularly...

  3. These books all look very interesting. My summer reading list, so far, is a lot of young adult fiction for a grad class I am taking and so far, I am sure wishing I could read something more interesting and challenging. I will plow on through the YA fiction and hopefully have some time for stuff of my own choosing and liking before summer is over. I will look forward to some good book reviews from you and possibly adding some of these books to my own reading list.

  4. What a neat idea to have a list. I've got a bunch of books to read to prepare for my new job in the fall - I plan to read Catching Fire and Mockingjay, Matched, by Ally Condie, then some books for 3rd and 4th graders since I'll be teaching them in the library next school year :0
