Yarn Along

Joining in with Ginny at Small Things for this week's Yarn Along. I have almost finished all of the Christmas presents on my list..... aside from those for my children, which, sadly, is still a lot. I was planning on knitting them each a hat and a pair of mittens, and I still have the arms and trim of Phoebe's tea leaves sweater to finish (plus a few other sewn gifts as well). I am starting to realize (and accept) that all of this knitting may not get done in time. But, the good news is that I am the only one who will know if I don't finish them all! I casted-on Phoebe's hat yesterday, deciding that was a good, fairly-mindless knit to have on hand while I finish up grading finals and prepare holiday packages to be sent. Only one more yarn along before the big day, so next week I will update you all on what actually got done! I foresee a lot of movie nights in my future...
I am still reading In the Kingdom of Men by Kim Barnes and so far I have been enjoying it. It's about a young couple that moves to Saudi Arabia to work in the oil business. The setting is so vastly different from where I am that reading it is a pretty good escape from reality.
What are you reading and knitting this week? Are you finishing up all of the gifts on your list? Pin It Now!

  5. You are an inspiration with your ambitious knitting for the holidays. I am trying to finish one little hat for my hubby with my new "knitting loom" but I have run into a learning curve and am now having to take a row out. Hope I get it done. I have made some other gifts but not with yarn. Hope you got your grading all finished. It is a very busy time of year for teachers! I am looking forward to Dec. 21 (if the world doesn't end, I'll have two weeks off!) Enjoy your day!
