Yesterday, I literally dragged my kids out of the house to go on a hike. The skies were blue, it wasn't too cold, and Todd was firmly planted on the couch watching football. I needed to move. The kids didn't want to come, but, of course, they had fun once they got going.
We went to the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge for the first time. It was a great place for kids... flat, wide trails, and lots to explore. I am excited to go back again in the spring when there will likely be more birds.
Feeling so lucky to have had this pocket of wonderful weather in January. Winters here can be pretty tough, especially for a sun-lover like me, so I have to take advantage of every sunny day I can!
No sunshine here, but I'll enjoy yours, okay? Lovely weather you are having!!
ReplyDeleteOh enjoy that sunshine, I am so hoping some shows up here soon, although I think when it does it will be bringing more arctic air with it :(
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
I love hiking! Good for you for getting your children outside enjoying the goodness of nature! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLooks so beautiful! We went hiking this weekend too and were so glad to be out in the woods. Of course, our winter is pretty much done already in Houston, so we're kind of doing the opposite - enjoying the nice weather every day cause the bad weather is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely beautiful location. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI often have to persuade Little Eco to come on walks with me also. But after only a few moments she starts exploring and tells me we should do this more often.
Thank you for your kind words re my post about how to want less. T
great pictures! We've had many sunny days here but are expecting our first freezing rain of the "winter" tonight/tomorrow.
